Project Aims

  • To enable the transfer of BAT (best available technologies) in the field of LILW management and disposal from the nuclear advanced EU countries to Slovenia and by this enhance the institutional and public acceptance of the proposed solutions.
  • To enable the transfer of problem specific expertise and know-how in the field of additional waste treatment technologies to Slovenia.

Project Results

  • Expertise and review of the project bases for the LILW facility.
  • Expertise and review of the existing documents concerning general basic conceptual design of the facility.
  • Acquisition of the problem specific expertise for existing waste conditioning with respect to WAC for disposal.
  • Proposal of the BAT for the LILW repository in Slovenia.
  • Feasibility analysis of cost components of the design in view of a LILW repository.
  • Revised proposal of Conceptual Design for LILW disposal in Slovenia.

The budget for this project was: 400 000 euro.
