Description
Objective
Safety-related components were purchased in Western countries for Balakovo Units 1-3 in the course of construction and erection of these Units.
In particular safety related valves were delivered by Sempell, Germany to the Soviet Union.
After more then 10 years of operation, spare parts are needed to continue proper functioning of the NPP. In this case, spare parts for these safety related valves had to be supplied.
Result
Spare parts for safety related valves, originally delivered by Sempell, Germany, have been supplied to Balakovo NPP. Consequently Sempell was chosen as the supplier in a direct agreement.
