Objective

The objective of the project was the implementation at BN 600 NPP of a computerized maintenance management system, by providing NPP with the GIE system software (developed by EdF-GDMI) as adapted to the Russian context, with the dedicated computer network to support it and with the necessary skills and assistance for the GIE system integration into the NPP organization and its further exploitation.

Result

Computer/network equipment has been supplied. It complies with the technical specifications. The Final Acceptance on 29 January 1998 witnessed the settlement of the defects identified during the Provisional Acceptance.

The system software has been implemented according to the technical specifications and the anomalies identified during the provisional acceptance eliminated. The training has been delivered and will be continued on an on-the-job basis.

Further to a 'pilot operation', the system has been integrated in the BN 600 NPP organization and made operational, even though partially and with some problems.

The problems occurred due to the slow system response (low speed of not up-to-date computers) and the incomplete adaptation of the software to the Russian organizational context.

The present configuration of the system, consistent with the technical specifications, is nevertheless considered by Beneficiary an improvement in the maintenance approach and in the plant operational safety.
