Project Aims

The specific objectives of this project were to:/>

• Assess the completeness of the available experimental data with regard to the bubble condenser (BC) safety evaluation (the main function of VVER 440/213 BC is to limit the pressurisation of the containment in case of pipe breaks with large diameters, up to the double-ended break of a main piping of primary circuit – the design basis large break LOCA),/>

• Provide support by EU TSO to the NRA and their TSOs in the />
  Czech />/>Republic, />/>/>Hungary />/>/>and />
  Slovakia/>/>/>, />

• Disseminate the conclusions of this project to the NRA in Russian Federation and in Ukraine, for the evaluation of the results of analyses and experiments performed in the BCEQ project, as well as other additional experimental results that would made available during the course of this present project,/>

Project Results

The results from the project have been provided on the following 5 tasks:/>

• Task 1: Evaluation of EREC test facility related to investigations performed in the BCEQ project,
• Task 2: Evaluation of VUEZ test facilities related to activities performed in theBubble Condenser Experimental Qualification (PH2.13/95) />project,
• Task 3: Presentation of interim report synthesising results of tasks 1 and 2,
• Task 4: Performance of independent post-test calculations,
• Task 5: Review of the final report of Bubble Condenser Experimental Qualification (PH2.13/95)/> project/>
