Project Aims
The main objective of the project is to accelerate the process of re-organisation and reconstruction of the central radioactive waste storage facility located at Brinje near Ljubljana. There are approximately 100 m³ of institutional radioactive waste currently stored in this facility. The three main components which are featuring in this PHARE project are as follows:
 

  • Logistic activities (transfer of waste packages from one zone to another one);
     

  • Preparatory works for waste characterisation;
     

  • <span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: " times="" new="" roman";="" mso-ansi-language:="" en-gb;="" mso-fareast-language:="" mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" mso-bidi-language:="" ar-sa"="">Radiation protection measures.

Project Results
The project will result in adequate characterisation of the institutional low and intermediate level radioactive waste and improved safety of the Slovenian radioactive waste storage facility at Brinje.
The budget for this project is: 270 000 euro.
