Concept and programme for the realisation of a radwaste repository for short-lived low and intermediate level waste (LILW-SL) in the Leningrad region
Description
Objective
The objective of this Tacis project is to evaluate existing alternatives and to develop one concept and a programme to be widely agreed between Rosatom, regulatory bodies (as feasible), government at local, regional and national level, the public and media as well as potential Western funding organisations - the "stake-holders" - for the realisation of a repository for low- and intermediate level waste (predominantly short-lived) in the Leningrad region. The programme shall cover all aspects of a repository project in such a way that it will provide a sound basis for launching a project for implementation of the repository. It shall further be based on already performed studies and international experience.
