Information system (IS) on NPP operation feedback for REA and VNIIAES Institute incl. communication equipment

Description

Objective

Efficient use of operational experience was expected to improve NPP safety by this project. This is one of the fundamental principles of safety described in the relevant documents of IAEA and in the General Safety Regulations (OPB-88). It was considered to be achieved in Russia through computerized processing and dissemination of information between Rosenergoatom (REA), VNIIAES and the NPPs.
Within the scope of this project, an analysis was jointly to be performed and requirements were to be developed for:
  • documents turnover;
  • data base structure;
  • local Area Network (LAN)-project (including programming and technical requirements).
Based on the before mentioned requirements, the following will be undertaken:
  • delivery of software and hardware with documentation;
  • installation, adjustment and testing of LAN with documentation;
  • assistance in trial operations.
Result
Though the project suffered serious delays leading to a project duration of more than 3 years, finally all planned outputs for the objective indicated above have been achieved including:
  • reports on the results of analysis of the current status of IS;
  • proposed structure of the new IS;
  • equipment for training class and for IS;
  • database specification;
  • IS specification;
  • databases for REA, VNIIAES and pilot NPPs.
