Objective
This project aimed to improve and modernize the cutting and welding equipment for small pipes. The application of this equipment was and will be performed at Kalinin NPP, mainly during the outage periods. It used to be done manually, which led to a reduced quality of work, long duration, and large irradiation doses and hence large mobilization of personnel.
Result
The equipment purchased was:

• 1 unit AUTOTIG 140 P;
• 1 unit AUTOTIG 250 P (AVC + oscillation);
• 1 unit Manual torch TIG AS 20;
• 1 unit Weld head cable 15 m;
• 1 unit Weld head cable 50 m;
• 1 unit Recorder and printer;
• 1 unit Stepless speed change gear (AUTOTIG 140 P);
• 1 unit Weld head ASTRO ARCH 1500 OD 8/34 mm (no wire);
• 1 unit Weld head MU III 20/80 OD 20/80 mm (with wire);
• 1 unit Weld head MU III 30/114 OD 30/114 mm (with AVC oscillation).
