Objective
This project aimed to improve and modernize the cutting and welding equipment for small pipes. The application of this equipment was and will be performed at Kalinin NPP, mainly during the outage periods. It used to be done manually, which led to a reduced quality of work, long duration, and large irradiation doses and hence large mobilization of personnel.
Result
The equipment purchased was:

• 2 bevelling machines for small pipe diameters;
• 2 bevelling machines for larger pipe diameters;
• 3 cutting and bevelling machines for the range 8 to 114 mm pipe diameters;
• set of cutting and bevelling tools for the different machines;
• set of welding clamps.
