Objective
The subject of this project is the supply to Kola NPP of a burner system for the radwaste incinerator plant. The burner system will be used for heating up the incinerator and afterwards to control the burning process.
The radwaste incinerator plant was installed and implemented at an earlier stage in Kola NPP, outside of this TACIS Project.
It consists of the following:

• Acceptance, storage and supply unit of radwaste to the burners system;

• Radwaste incinerator;

• Fuel preparation and supply unit to the burners;

• Smoke gas purification system.

For ensuring necessary smoke gas cleaning the modernization of the purification system was implemented in 1996. Function tests of the new purification system showed that the existing burners did not provide the calculated temperature in the incinerator.
In total, the existing system of fuel supply, fuel control and combustion did not meet the requirements. Therefore Kola NPP decided to replace the burners and the fuel supply system.
