Description

Objective

The objective of the project was to implement the on-site assistance (OSA) at Kola NPP by a Western Consultant. This assistance by the Consultant was the subject of a formal contract between EC and the Consultant.

Result

A mission to the Kola site was made to establish a detailed description of the selected projects to be undertaken with the Russian Counterpart in the framework of the TACIS 1992 programme and to further establish the general work schedule and work plan and manpower requirement by the Consultant. Input documents for the first large reconstruction project were retrieved and compiled.

The main project identified for further implementation is described under R1.01/92A - Basic engineering for replacement of the Reactor Protection System Units 3 and 4.
