Project Aims

The main objectives of the project were as follows:

• to evaluate the needs for improvements of NPP Kozloduy technical documentation;
• to provide training to NPP Kozloduy staff which would help them to upgrade the plant documentation in future, as independently as possible.

Project Results

• Under the guidance of IVO International's Bulgarian specialists from NPP Kozloduy and Energoproekt Ltd. Sofia became acquainted with the Loviisa NPP documentation system and individual technical documents as well as the tools and methods used by the Finish plant to develop and update plant documentation. Bulgarian participants attended a three week seminar at Loviisa NPP under the framework of this PHARE project and cooperated with IVO International's specialists in the review and assessment process completed for NPP Kozloduy documentation;
• The comparison of Loviisa NPP and Kozloduy NPP documentation, definition of the needs to improve the level of Kozloduy documents and documentation system was performed together in order to get Bulgarians familiar with the Loviisa NPP documentation systems and to have better understanding of the plant’s needs and situation. During the comparison of Kozloduy NPP and Loviisa NPP documentation the estimation was also conducted on the necessity and efforts needed to upgrade/ complete the Kozloduy NPP documentation system;
• The situation of archiving, coding and processing of documents at Kozloduy NPP was clarified and reviewed. Examples of Loviisa NPP documents were collected and used as a base when defining particular needs to upgrade the Kozloduy NPP documentation. The documentation to be upgraded concerned 39 safety related systems as defined by the Bulgarian and IVO International experts.
