Methodology and computational tools for NPP operation risk analysis

Description

Beneficiary Organization Details
State Office for Nuclear Safety (Czech Republic):
http://www.sujb.cz
Project Aims

  • To acquire up-to-date, efficient methodological and computational tools so that the risk analysis will be extended to those areas which at present remain non-covered;
  • To make available such methodological and computational tools which can be applied for complex risk analysis purposes, and which, beside usual standard, had to include the following elements:
    • Tool for a detailed analysis of human reliability, based on some of up-to-date methods (decision trees, time dependent curves);
    • Capability to analyze special problems by Markov chains;
    • Tools for the time-dependent risk analysis;
    • Models based on the non-constant failure intensity; which would permit to assess how the ageing affects both reliability and risk (Weibull distribution).

Project Results
The project was completed according to the specified Terms of Reference. The start and end dates of the project as specified above are indicative only.
