Description
Objectives
In the framework of the “Tacis Nuclear Safety Programme” it was decided to deliver training equipment for the personnel of the Aktau NPP (BN-350, fast breeder). The equipment covers the following items:
- Computers and peripherals (Lot 1),
- Software (Lot 2),
- Copy equipment (Lot 3) and
- Teaching equipment (Lot 4)
Lot 1 comprised four personal computers (PCs), one PC compatible for AUTOCAD, five printers, one plan plotter, back-up system and network equipment (hubs). Lot 2 covered the operating system of the PCs under Lot 1, for which Windows 95 (Russian version) was chosen, and application software such as AUTOCAD, Word, Excel, Corel Draw and EGO (all in Russian). Lot 3 involved a photocopier and spare parts (drum, exposure bulb, etc.). Lot 4 covered four whiteboards, four overhead projectors including spare parts, one episcope including spare part, four projection screens and one multimedia projection system. The order also involved consumables like discs, ink cartridges, paper, whiteboard brushes, etc. All the equipment had to be of robust design and long-term reliability. It was expected to be commercially available in the country of the supplier.
Project Results
After two unsuccessful calls for tenders the order was awarded to the company Unit Export Ltd. The contract became effective on the 25th May 2000 and ended on the 14th December 2000 with the successful delivery of the above items. No major issues were detected during the warranty period, which ended in December 2001. The final acceptance certificate was signed in January 2002.
