Project Aims
The main objective of this project was the creation of a pilot maintenance training centre at Paks NPP. The specific project aims were the address all relevant training issues, as follows:

  • Training of trainers (from all three beneficiary countries);
  • Systematic training of new maintenance personnel (mainly Paks personnel);
  • Periodical training of the basic maintenance personnel (mainly Paks personnel);
  • Training in handling component malfunctions, practising it under radiation-free circumstances;
  • Practising new methods to support the development of new, special maintenance machines and tools;
  • Preparation/improvement and follow-up of maintenance procedures;
  • Improvement of preventive maintenance programmes;
  • Development of standard maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance programmes.

The centre had to serve as a pilot maintenance training centre for training of trainers of all three countries, establishment of methodologies, typical training programmes and maintenance procedures. It had to serve as a model for establishment of similar training centres for NPPs of Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Project Results
In the implementation of the project the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology was applied and followed. The main contractor provided the technical assistance needed to:

  • Define the framework of the training programme to be prepared;
  • Define all the training activities, that the centre should perform, the methodology to be used and the time schedule of each single training;
  • To prepare all the training documents such as technical and administrative procedures for development of the overall training activities.

The local subcontractor provided the following support to Paks NPP:

  1. Professional supervision of job and competency analysis;
  2. Professional supervision of definition and selection of appropriate training settings;
  3. Methodological support for elaboration of training plans, including, contents, setting, evaluation method entry level, and necessary support;
  4. Methodological support for definitions and development of training objectives, include terminal and enabling objectives;
  5. Methodological and professional supervision of training material developments including development of the documentation for process development and management, professional support for the authors of instructional documentation and development of plant evaluation test bank.
