Project Aims
The project objective was to perform an assessment of the Greifswald PSA applicability to Kozloduy, to prepare reliability studies of some safety systems (high pressure safety injection, confinement spray, auxiliary feedwater system) and suggest accident sequences to be considered for probabilistic pressurised thermal shock (PTS) evaluation and severe accidents (SA).
Project Results
- The applicability of the Greifswald PSA to Kozloduy was evaluated and results were used in establishment of the list of Kozloduy NPP plant specific initiating events to be considered in the Kozloduy PSA. It was concluded that Greiswal PSA has a little applicability to Kozloduy NPP and plant specific PSA studies were needed;
- Fault trees have been constructed for the selected high pressure safety injection, confinement spray and auxiliary feedwater systems. These reliability models could further be integrated in a plant specific PSA for Kozloduy NPP;
- Interrelation amongst PSA, PTS and SA has been investigated and recommendations issued on how to address this issue for Kozloduy NPP.
The start and end dates of the project as specified above are indicative only.
