Description

Objective
The aim of the project was to support Minatom in developing two public nuclear energy information centres, one in St. Petersburg and the second close to the Balakovo NPP.
The project included the supply of audio-visual interactive and exposition materials, the increase of the informational capabilities and methodology of such a centre similar to those at NPPs in the EU.
Result
The 2 information centres have been set up successfully and have been used and are still in use for public information to the satisfaction of those seeking comprehensive information on NPPs.

Results of project (against agreed outputs).

The Balakovo and St. Petersburg Public Information Centre constitute the major concrete results as per TOR. Both are state-of-the-art in Russia, fully operational with trained excursion specialist and separate programmes for different categories of visitors: journalists, specialists, medical staff and school teachers.

Besides the permanent exhibit areas the centres accommodate space for meetings and press conferences. The most modern audio-visual, video and interactive computer displays provide some high-tech look to the centres.
