Project Aims
The ultimate objective of this project was to assist the Beneficiary Utilities (SE a.s. Slovakia and CEZ, a.s. Czech Republic) in further development and implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) principles related to five main areas namely: Nuclear Fuel Cycle; Procurement and Procurement Support; Maintenance; Operations Management and Management Enhancement. In addition, assistance had to be been given to The Czech Utility CEZ with updating its general management principles/policy documents in a manner similar to the one that was carried out on previous PHARE projects for Slovakia.
Project Results

• The Beneficiaries have been provided with a number of sample documents/advice and guidance related to the QA principles and programmes to be used for: 'Nuclear Fuel Cycle', 'Procurement and Procurement Support, Maintenance', 'Operations Management' and 'Management Enhancement';
• The Beneficiaries have been provided with relevant training on QA implementation through technical visits to the contractor enterprises, e.g. BNFL and Union Fenosa, as well as through attending a Management Enhancement Training courses;
• External Auditors assistance has been provided to the Beneficiaries to help them review and update the internal QA procedures/ policies in the five main areas covered by the Terms of Reference for the project;
• In addition for the CEZ utility the Company Manual, Quality Policy, QA Implementation Plan and Department Manual for Safety and Quality have been reviewed in details and suggestion for their updating were prepared.
