Project Aims
The aim of the project was the "safety case" management implementation in such a way that the system should clearly document the current level of safety and enable to verify the influence of each new planned modification based on a new reference documentation (instead of Russian documentation OPB79). In practice it means the elaboration of a new safety licensing documentation.
The project consists in supporting the Beneficiary for the implementation of the different steps of the project:
- Definition of the methodology of safety case management;
- Identification of principles and standards to be applied;
- Definition of the content of the safety case file to be sent to the Safety Authority;
- Verification of the consistency between the list of safety issues and the whole set of safety cases to be addressed;
- Elaboration of one or two safety case files, selected in agreement with the Beneficiary.
Project Results
The project was completed according to the specified Terms of Reference. It resulted in the conduct of the following three main activities related to the Safety Case Management (SCM):
- A comprehensive SCM Implementation Handbook was delivered;
- 15 Trainees received preliminary training on SCM principles and practices;
- A pilot safety case file on a proposed modification was worked out.
