SEISMIC DESIGN REVIEW

SEISMIC DESIGN REVIEW

Description

Objective

Task 1:
Establish a clear basis for a seismic design review.

Task 2:
Determine the appropriate safe shutdown earthquake level requirement for the Novovoronezh plant after a careful review of current standards and regulatory requirements in both the CIS and the West.

Task 3:
Obtain data for local ground response and soil-structure analysis to be carried out in a possible next phase of a Tacis project.

Result

Task 1:
According to the objective, a quality assured basis for seismic design review was created.

Task 2:
The safe shut down earthquake level was calculated.

Task 3:
The achievement was according to the objective above.

The project partners agreed on the following values based on the calculation outcome:

  • SL I: 5 degree MSKS;
  • SL-2: horizontal PGA = 0,11g; vertical PGA = 0,05g.
