Seismic hazard evaluation
Seismic hazard evaluation
Description
Beneficiary Organisation details
Paks NPP (Hungary)
http://www.npp.hu
Project Aims
- Collection of Western and Hungarian standards relating to seismic re-evaluation of existing NPPs;
- Definition of seismological data for the Paks region;
- Establishment of recommended SSE level for the Paks site;
- Earthquake monitoring network: data analysis and interpretation;
- Estimation of the degree of seismic activity of the sites of the Paks NPP;
- Elaboration of final report, and;
- Training of personnel.
Project Results
- A probabilistic seismic hazrd assessment (PSHA) produced uniform hazard response spectra (UHRS) such that the spectral value at each period had the same probability of being exceeded.
- UHRS were produced for horizontal bedrock outcrop ground motion for return periods of 1,000 years, 10,000 years and 100,000 years. Those had a realistic and consistent shape and could be used directly for design purposes.
