Project Results

This Phare project was completed within the framework of the WANO Six-month programme for Kozloduy NPP safety upgrading, implemented in 1991. Westinghouse developed a report entitled “Seismic upgrading design fo Kozloduy Units 1 and 2”. This report contained recommended explanatory guidance and examples for the seismic upgrading of Kozloduy NPP unit 1&2 in Bulgaria. The report addressed the following issues:

  • Methodology and the implementation procedure;
  • Determination of the equipment list to be considered;
  • Elaboration of upgrade data for each equipment design;
  • Identification fo open items, includinng supporting actions to further considered.
