Project Aims
The overall objective was strengthening of Radiation and Nuclear Safety Infrastructure and Institutions in Republic of Latvia and transfer of Western European Regulatory methodology and practices to the Nuclear Safety Authorities.
The specific objectives of this project were to provide assistance in the areas:

• Training and technical support for the inspectors;
• Preparation and decommissioning regulations;
• Off-site emergency preparedness and establishment of an off-site emergency centre with necessary equipment including establishment of necessary communication possibilities to obtain on-line meteorological data.
