Supply of equipment for acquisition channels/plant computer network interface
Supply of equipment for acquisition channels/plant computer network interface
Description
1) Background
The safety assessment of the plant operational and maintenance practices identified missing data acquisition system that performs data processing, analysis and inspection report writing of the eddy current inspection of the VVER steam generator tubes.
In order to improve documentation on eddy current inspection of the VVER steam generators the European Commission provided the Rovno NPP with assistance to develop similar data acquisition system for recording the inspection results in the Nuclear Power Plant Eddy Current Inspection (ECI) database. The matter is to arrange data acquisition and their transmission to the acquisition server with its further simultaneous processing, analysis and report writing. This work must be done without any removable data carriers. The system also presumes information safety from unauthorised deleting and changing. Taking into account the extension of inspection volumes, obsolete equipment, which does not meet modern requirements, must be substituted.
2) Objectives
This project developed the criteria for technical evaluation of the bids requested by the call for tenders to be launched by the European Commission for supply to ROVNO NPP of equipment for acquisition channels/NPP computer network interface (group 3 of the project U1.01/97D).
3) Project results–achievements
Corresponding Technical Specifications and Evaluation criteria has been elaborated. The project addressed the following issues:
- Possibility to develop ECI analysis at the same time as acquisition is done;
- Simultaneous operating of several analysts, who are taking part in data handling, analysis and comparative process of received data. This leads to diminishing of human factor influence and allows an increase of productivity;
- Reducing of analysis handling idle time for disk space clearing and data archiving at the time of inspection;
- No need to frequent insertions and extractions of magneto-optical discs, which can lead to information losses;
- Backup copying of information in definite periods of time allows to provide data safety;
- Preventive measures of system operating in case of its disconnecting from power supply;
- Improving of work with archives while making comparative analysis of inspection results and those proceeding inspections.
4) Comments
This project was implemented through the On Site assistance for Rovno NPP.
