Project Aims
- To address the EC general recommendation Type II concerning the Safety of Other Types of Nuclear Installations and the related regulatory framework in the context of EC enlargement.
- To achieve during the accession period compliance of measurement and inspection procedures during the repository operation with practices in relevant EU waste management organizations.
- To improve ability of RAWRA to check properties of radioactive waste accepted to the repositories, namely to the repository Richard and to monitor radiation situation on workplace and ensure analysis of samples.
Project Results
The project results will ensure an improvement of measurement and inspection procedures during the repository operation in accordance to the recent Czech regulations and the best EU practices. The expected project results could be summarized as follows:
- Instrumentation for radiological measurements in use by RAWRA for inspection of all accepted waste packages and for measurements in the radiation protection and monitoring system;
- Operational instructions and proceedings adopted by RAWRA as the main operational documents for future operation of the repositories;
- QA/QC program procedures included into RAWRA QA/QC system and into the documentation required for licensing and authorization;
- Personnel trained;
- Authorization/license of measurement procedures obtained;
- Final report drafted evaluating all results of the project.
The budget for this project is: 350 000 euro.
