Project Aims
- To assist CNCAN in decision making related to the Cernavoda NPP Unit 1 licensing process and resolution of opened safety issues.
- To provide technical and methodological support during CNCAN independent review process of the plant modifications safety assessment submitted by the Utility.
Project Results
This project provided support to CNCAN in its licensing review for the following specific safety issues for Cernavoda 1 NPP:
- the overall fire protection programme,
- fire hazard analysis and potential fire effects;
- improving measures for fire protection;
- water hammer safety analysis in the special safety systems (Emergency Core Cooling and Shutdown System no. 2);
- overpressure protection of the Reactor Primary Circuit; and,
- Main Steam Line stress analysis.
The budget for this project was: 400 000 euro.
