Project Aims
The main purpose of the Project is to support the improvement of national radioactive waste and spent fuel management infrastructure in Slovak Republick, so it could reach the status analogous to the most European countries. The specific objective is to assist in establishing of the national agency for management of radioactive waste generated in the country.
Project Results
Support to meet the operational needs of newly established national waste management agency, including:

  • Preparation of relevant internal documentation;
  • Selection of optimal financing scheme;
  • Implementation of adequate QA/QC system;
  • Advice on personal management and training;
  • Development and implementation of a complex national radioactive waste and spent fuel information system;
  • Evaluation of requirements for the disposal facilities safety demonstration;
  • Procedures for verification of the waste package characteristics at the operated disposal facility site.

The budget for this project is: 855 000 euro.
