Project Aims

The general objective of this project was to strengthen and to enhance the effectiveness of the nuclear safety regime in the Czech Republic and to improve the organization and the performance of the State Office for Nuclear Safety of the Czech Republic (SÚJB).
The specific objective of the first phase programme was to provide assistance in the following areas identified as result of the exploratory mission:

  • Assistance in developping SÚJB internal emergency preparedness and planning capability, including the definition of equipment to be procured for the Czech Emergency Response Centre;
  • Technical assistance to review some regulatory documents;
  • Follow-up assistance during the procurement of equipments.
