VVER-230 Simulation and documentation

Description

Objective

The objective of the project was to develop a data package and a set of descriptions of systems of a reference VVER 440-230 plant for future use for the development of a simulator.
A feasibility study on the different types of simulators was to be performed.

Result

Feasibility Study

The Analysis performed for Tacis Project 4.1/91 has been used as input for the training needs evaluation. The role of Novovoronezh Training Center (NTC) was to review the documents produced by the consultant and to give input into the training needs.

Simulator Specification

A simulator specification has been written. Using the specification methodology recommended by the consultant, NTC has established the technical requisition file with the assistance of the consultant.
The data collection has been performed according to the methodology proposed by the consultant, reviewed and adapted by NTC experts. Two groups were formed (one for the control room data and the component data-base and one for the other technical data). Seven individuals from NTC and five from the NPP have been involved in the data collection process. Due to the absence of some of the required data at NPP, NTC has involved other institutes such as KURCHATOV Institute and VNIIAES for input.

Summary

The data collection methodology that has been developed has been used for other simulators envisaged at the Novovoronesh Training Centre. Among them those for the following 3 Tacis Projects, all numbered R2.04/93:

  • Multifunctional simulator VVER 440. Project Management;
  • Multifunctional simulator VVER 440. Data Package;
  • Multifunctional simulator VVER 440. Supply of Simulator.
