Project Aims
This project was design for study of behaviour of the bubble condenser system of VVER 440/213 units for the confinement of radioactive releases following design basis accidents. Project objectives were as follows:

In depth experimental study of the structural behaviour of the pressure retaining boundary of the bubble condenser;

Testing of the thermohydraulic behaviour of the bubble condenser system on a test section which could replicate in full size the original configuration portion of the bubble condeser floor and which model the relevant adjacent systems.
Project Results

Development of adequate information for assessment by the Safety authorities of the Beneficiary countries for test methodologies, test campaigns, and open the representativeness of the result and conlusions obtained;

Development and implementation of two test programmes;

T/H and fluid -structure interaction test on a test prototype typical for Paks NPP;

Structural verification tests on a test prototype typical for Dukovany/Bohunice NPP;

Building of respective testing facilities;

Perfomance of the qualification tests;

Comparison of the test and analysis results;

Elaboration of conclusions.
