Project Aims

The object of this project was to establish the qualification state for the safety-related equipment of Kozloduy NPP Unit 2.

Specifically:

• Identification of equipment items to be applied;
• Definition of general qualification methodology;
• Determination of required operation conditions;
• Collection and filing of qualification documentation;
• Identification of equipment whose qualification has not been proven;
• Definition of corresponding qualification requirements;
• Analysis of equipment operation under defined conditions;
• Definition of testing or analysis required;
• Preparation of qualification plan and testing procedures for each type of equipment.

Project results

Formulation of the proposal for (I) equipment to be qualified, (II) equipment to be modified, and (III) equipment to be replaced.
Revision of findings, taking into account results from other Items of the WANO Programme.
Adaptation of results to all Kozloduy VVER-440/230 units.
