Background

In the framework of the TACIS 1993 and 1994 programmes the European Commission agreed to assist the Ukrainian authorities with the development of a training centre at Zaporozhe for training of maintenance personnel: see project U2.02/93C "Development Plan for creation of a regional training centre for maintenance" (contract 23212) and project U2.02/94C "Regional NPP Maintenance Center (Continuation U2.02/93C)" (contract 24891).

As part of, and within, those contracts specialised training tools, mock-ups and equipment were delivered. In addition, a list of required classroom equipment was developed, along with the associated technical specifications, and this equipment was purchased separately through the present procurement contract.

Objective

The objective of the contract was the delivery of standard, off-the-shelf equipment for furnishing classrooms at the training centre. The equipment to be supplied comprised classroom furniture, office automation equipment, audio-visual equipment as well as a number of standard tools for training of I&C maintenance personnel.

The contract preparation, tendering, contracting and follow-up were overseen by a Procurement Agent under contract 25070.

Results

The contract was signed on 11 January 1999 and was completed on 29 December the same year.
