Background

In Zaporoshye NPP as in other NPPs of VVER-1000 Type, a large amount of components have been purchase by the Soviet Union from Western European manufacturers. These components had reached their life time and had to be replaced. In many cases they could only be replaced by the original types.

Some of the safety related components of Zaporozhye NPP are now running out of the safety margin. The wear – out margin reduction has a direct influence on the safety functions of the safety related components. By means of like with like replacement and without any operational interruption caused by lack of spare parts, the time span needed from the definition of the demand to supply the spare parts should be shortened in order to avoid an operational standstill.

Objectives

With this project a large number of safety related spare parts had to be supplied. In order to define the most urgent needs, a list of safety related spare parts, in accordance with their urgency had been established.

Planned Outputs:

• A worked out list of spare parts needed.
• Detailed technical specifications.
• Preparation of contract documents.
• Spare parts delivered.
• Acceptance control of delivered spare parts and their installation.
• Implementation of an entrance acceptance control of items in accordance with the international rules.

Project Results

List of Equipment Delivered:

• One stationary lead-acid battery 1200 Ah consisting of 120 cells Vd 2412 dry pre-charged incl. cell connectors, drains, standard maintenance material, plastic profiles for earthquake-resistant racks, separately packed acid and battery documentation, but without racks.
• One stationary lead-acid battery 1200 Ah consisting of 116 cells, Vb 2412 dry pre-charged incl. cell connectors, series connectors, drains, standard maintenance material, plastic profiles for earthquake – resistance racks, separately packed acid and battery documentation, but without racks.
• Six check systems for lead-acid batteries, type: 7S-plus incl. printer and temperature sensor.
• 25 voltage testers DIGIPOL plus.
• One torque wrench, type DSH-0 saltus, space 0,1-1,0 Nm, incl. adapter, extension, socket wrench inlet.
• One torque wrench, type HAZET 6110-1CT, space 5-60 Nm, incl. adapter, extension, socket wrench inlet.
