This project consisted of the transfer of calculation codes for VVER-1000 from German experts to the Ukrainian Nuclear Regulatory Body (at that time GANU).

UK/TS/28 is a 2+2 project in which EU Technical Support Organisations support the Ukrainian Nuclear Safety Authority (SNRCU) in its activities on licensing related assessments of EU financed improvement measures in Zaporozhye NPP.
UK/TS/29 was a technical support project in which the nuclear safety authority of Ukraine (SNRCU) was supported in reviewing safety documentation, mainly related to Khmelnitsky 2 and Rovno 4 (K2R4).
1) Background
This project is the continuation of the project UK/TS/01 A (see the relevant PRS) dedicated to safety assessment of the NPPs at the Rovno site.
Uranium exploration took place in Russia after the WWII and vein types mine were discovered in Stavropol. In the fifties uranium exploration was mainly concentrated on regions outside of Russia.
