This project, part of the Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation (INSC), has effectively enhanced the capabilities in China for the identification and treatment of people who may have been over-exposed to radiation in a radiological or nuclear emergency.

Under its research programmes, the European Commission has supported the development of the comprehensive RODOS (Real time Online Decision Support) system for the off-site management of nuclear emergencies.

The purposes of the project are:

The European Union, together with its Chinese Partners, has successfully implemented a first joint project aimed at enhancing and strengthening the nuclear safety regulatory framework in China in accordance with highest standards and best international practice adopted in the EU.
