Objective
According to the intention of the European Union and the Russian Ministry of Atomic Power the operational safety assistance, which started with TACIS 92, continued with TACIS 94 with the same Western and Eastern Utility and NPPs.

This contract covers the standard OSA type support to a nuclear plant in Ukraine, in the framework of the TACIS project system. It covered the years 1997 (partially) – 2003.

Objective
According to the intention of the European Union and the Russian Ministry of Atomic Power the operational safety assistance, which started with TACIS 92, continued with TACIS 95 with the same Western and Eastern Utilities and NPPs.

Objective R1.03/93
This “On-Site-Assistance”, in short “OSA”, project deals with the increase of the safety culture on the NPP. As in all other cases, the OSA was performed by an EU utility, working with a team of Western and Russian experts.

Background
The accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine in April 1986 demonstrated the need for adequate radiation early warning systems that allow authorities to take appropriate and timely actions in the event of a major radiological accident.

Objective
The objective of the project was to develop a complete and coherent Quality Assurance (QA) Program for operation of Russian NPPs in order to improve as quickly as possible the operating safety of these plants.
