Objective
The original SG control valves had to be replaced by modern Western valves. CIS manufactured valves of the required quality were not available. Therefore a joint venture was founded by Tchechov Works and Siemens.
Result
Objective
The aim of the project was the replacement of the existing safety valves on the steam generators on one of the 4 Units by modern safety valves. The objective included supply of equipment, related services, spare parts, auxiliary equipment and tools.
Objective
The present signalisation was considered unreliable. The sensors did not work properly and have led to the unintentional start of the fire fighting system.
The project covers the supply of the following equipment:

Objective
The project includes procurement of special maintenance equipment for large scale repair and replacement of heavy components like steam generators, pipes and valves.
The envisaged tools and equipment include:
Objective
This project consists of replacement of the current 2 (two) booster pumps for the feed water pumps in one Balakovo NPP.
Result
This project was combined with project R1.02/96A and jointly tendered, contracted and supplied.
Background
Steam flow meters originally installed on the main steam lines are not reliable, and their failure led to several reactor scrams in the past, because steam flow measurement is used for controlling steam generator water level.
Introduction
Objective R1.02/93
This “On-Site-Assistance”, in short “OSA”, project deals with the increase of the safety culture on the NPP. As in all other cases, the OSA was performed by an EU utility, working with a team of Western and Russian experts.
Objective
In the existing fuel loading machines Instrumentation and Control errors in fuel positioning occurred and due to malfunction of the electronics all limiting blockings could run out of function.
Objective
According to the intention of the European Union and the Russian Ministry of Atomic Power the operational safety assistance, which started with TACIS 92, continued with TACIS 94 with the same Western and Eastern Utility and NPPs.
