In the context of restructuring the electricity sector by the Ukrainian government, this project was set up to support the re-orientation of the management of Energoatom towards a competitive market-driven environment.
This project consisted in the supply of computer and office equipment to the SNRCU, namely: 3 servers, 1 switch for servers, 40 personal computers (PC), 40 software licences for PC, 10 personal printers, 5 network printers, 1 portable multimedia projector, 1 portable screen and 1 portable board.

By 2004 the Tacis programme had been operating for 10 years and had already committed more than €1145 Million to improving nuclear safety in the former Soviet countries. Along with Russia, Ukraine was one of the biggest recipients of Tacis assistance.
