1) Background
The working plan and budget of the NNEGC-ENERGOATOM (EA) for the year 2000 defined training and continuing education of the managers and of the manager successors. However, fulfilment of these plans proved to be complicated due to the following reasons:
1) Background
Reliability of valves used for controlling the essential systems is a major element influencing the operational safety of NPPs. Operating NPPs in Ukraine contain approximately 5000 foreign-made valves of Western European supply.
Objectives
The present TACIS project U1.01/95C aims at replacing the 12 SG (steam generator) safety valves (2 per SG) of each unit 1 and unit 2 of Rovno NPP. The new safety valves should have the following functions:
Objectives
In the framework of the Tacis Nuclear Safety Programme, it was decided to increase the nuclear safety of the units 1 through 6 at the Zaporozhye NPP by improving the protection of the primary circuit from overpressure under normal and emergency modes.
1) Background
The issue of the integrity of the cable penetrations in relation to fire was identified by the IAEA and ranked level 3. Moreover, the ZNPP received in 1995 a licence conditions for operation from SNRC.
1) Background
Previous SG (steam generator) safety valves experienced several design shortcomings:
