UK/TS/28 is a 2+2 project in which EU Technical Support Organisations support the Ukrainian Nuclear Safety Authority (SNRCU) in its activities on licensing related assessments of EU financed improvement measures in Zaporozhye NPP.

Objectives
In the framework of the “Tacis Nuclear Safety Programme”, it was decided to increase the nuclear safety of the units 1 through 6 at the Zaporozhye NPP by improving the protection of the primary circuit from overpressure under normal and emergency modes.
Background
Zaporozhye NPP, located in Energodar, Zaporozhye Region, Ukraine comprises 6 power units and, with 6000 MW installed capacity, is the largest nuclear power generation facility in Europe.
